The motor is a 3/4 HP or a 1 HP (18" Machine) variable speed DC motor with reverse. (The reverse switch can be used to stop the motor quickly.) You can flip the reverse switch at full speed, and no harm will come to the motor since it is done magnetically. The clipper wheel is held on with a quick release hand nut, and you may have noticed that the machine can be purchased with or without a clipper wheel as you may already have one. Any standard clipper wheel will fit this machine. It also comes with a laser light and a vacuum port to vacuum up excess grit.
